Gele Gentiaan - gentiana lutea

Gele Gentiaan is een forse polvormende vaste plant uit de Europese bergen.
Het is de leverancier van de gentiaanwortel, die zowel medicinaal (bitterstof, tinctuur, bittertonicum, eetlustopwekkend) als voor gentiaanlikeur wordt gebruikt. In de volksgeneeskunde gold het als medicijn tegen koorts, jicht, hypochondrie, malaria, darmparasieten en alcoholisme.
